“ADD Passwords” with Bookmarks and Favorites for Fast Access

AutoComplete is handy, but what if you can’t remember the first letter of the user name and password?  You can store access information along with Bookmarks in Netscape Navigator, and within the Favorite or Bookmark site, your user name and password will be entered automatically.  As in the case of AutoComplete, you should only if this for sites that you don’t consider to be high security.

To save your access information along with your Navigator Bookmarks:

http://username:password@nama.org  to separate user name and password with a colon, and to separate the password from the URL with a @ sign.

EXPLORER 5.0 OR 5.5

In Explorer, make the same amendments to the Favorites file.  (open the Favorites menu, select Add to Favorites), and right click on the site you want.  Choose properties add EDIT URL same as we did above.
